A chance encounter between a Kiwi and a Frog in France lead to the idea of giving each other an insider’s view to their respective countries- France & New Zealand.
Despite different languages and cultures, and a friend each in tow, we also thought we should travel as a team, mostly overland, between the two countries and catching 20 countries in between. Throw in our competitive natures, a thirst for culture and history, and a bit of banter between the two teams, and you have LeapFrog Voyage.
If you love travelling, want a laugh, or want an insider story of backpacking across the world, check out our blogs and videos.
Our intended departure from Lyon, France was 15 May 2008, with the goal of being in NZ in December 2008 for a Christmas on the beach.

Our first stage through France included looking at French food and a typical big French meal (La grande bouffe!), discussing the French quirks on the champ de mars at Paris, touring Brittany in a Citroen 2cv, and meeting up with Antoine’s uncle who manages a vineyard in the Loire.
Have a question about a French quirk??? Ask us here and we’ll get the Frogs to explain…
